Set against a fading prehistoric sunset, "Uriel's Machine (The Astronomer)" is a meditation on time, mystery, and ancient knowledge. A lone figure stands at the center of a moat, staff in hand, gazing toward the horizon where the great tomb of Newgrange rises like a memory from the earth. Next to him stands a massive stone monolith etched with the sacred Skara Brae motif—an echo of forgotten civilizations and their celestial obsessions. Above it all, a comet streaks across the twilight sky, connecting past and future in a single blazing moment. Drawing from ancient astronomy, mythology, and megalithic symbolism, this piece invites viewers to consider the quiet reverence of those who looked to the stars long before our time—and the tools, both literal and metaphysical, they left behind.
