1|Los Rios Historic District

A visitor to San Juan Capistrano must visit the oldest residential street in California. Los Rios is dotted with old adobes and historic homes of prominent residents. It was first populated by Native Americans of the Acjachemen Nation before San Juan Capistrano was established in 1776. The images above depict the area’s rich history on photographic plaques placed along this historic depiction program wall in 2009. There are 12 such photographic panels located in Los Rios Park.

While you are in the Los Rios Historic District stop for a cup of coffee at Hidden House Coffee, eat at the Ramos House Cafe, or have High Tea at the Tea House on Los Rios, all located on Los Rios Street.
